This morning's blinding flash of the obvious--whatever I'm doing, almost ever, a big part of my brain is trying to move on to the next thing. Yoga--yes. Tasks with the kids--yes. Rehearsals--yes. This is my big project, my challenge--just do this one thing. Yoga is great for that; it focuses my brain on what my body is doing and doesn't let it off the leash too much. Just do this thing. Do it completely, then move on.
I've been reading Thich Nhat Hanh's "The Miracle of Mindfulness", and this morning I came across a passage that said, basically, "Some people think it would be a miracle to walk on water or in thin air. I think it's a miracle to walk on the earth." Yes. I like that.
